Job Description:
JOB SUMMARYThis position will serve as support to the Purchasing
Team by performing data entry and reconciliation. The candidate
will need to have a strong proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail,
Drive, Sheets and Docs), Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and
basic knowledge of the macOS operating system. - -This temporary,
ineligible for benefits role is: -

FUNCTIONSDocumentation / Administrative Support (80%)
Review Purchase Orders for
accuracy.Enter and verify data in the purchasing software
(Procurify). This includes item prices, quantities, tracking
numbers, delivery dates, and other supporting documents (receipts,
tracking info, proof of delivery).Ensure proper documentation by
reviewing purchase orders (POs) for deficiencies, making
appropriate changes, and when necessary returning incomplete
documents to the Purchasing and Receiving team for
resolution.Digitize and upload paper documentation (packaging
slips, statements, invoices, etc.) to GoogleDrive.Maintain thorough
record keeping and notes via Procurify, Asana & Google Drive
including sharing documents, receipts, invoices, and quotes.Assist
with reconciliation of requests, purchase orders, receipts, and
general accounting items and the preparation of any reports or
documents as required.Take responsibility to ensure that all new
and updated documentation meets the standards as outlined by
management.
Advanced user of Google products
(Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive), Microsoft Word and Excel. Learn, use,
and routinely update any online tools, applications and documents,
proactively asking clarifying questions to smooth any process or
system as needed.Maintain consistent organization and tidiness in
the work environment and in the handling of important information
(ie, tracking inventory tools and materials, crew data, goals and
timelines, payroll, etc.)Personnel Support/ Leadership (15%)
Tactfully manage, reassign and
redirect workflow using education, empowerment, and delegation when
appropriate or necessary, monitoring team morale and setting
manageable work expectations.Effectively manage own time,
individuals, and the efforts of the team as a whole to create an
environment of accountability, collaboration, and flexibility of
focus in the crew.Attend, host and support crew attendance to
relevant Meetings and maintain related correspondence; timely
updates, email correspondence and departmental communications.
-Monitor personal well-being, be aware of work expectations while
also setting realistic boundaries, and proactively address any
concerns with management.
Commit to improving and updating
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for this role.Support the
Purchasing and Receiving management and teams.Other Functions and
Responsibilities (5%)
Prepare written feedback for DPW
Management describing the successes of the season, areas in need of
improvement and suggestions with the purpose of improved overall
efficiency for the next year; Submit an end-of-season EMBER
Report.Work with the Team to plan and execute LNT and Waste
disposal plans for all relevant operations.Ability to adjust and
implement COVID protocols as directedParticipate in (Manager)
Meetings when requested and maintain related correspondence.Be
familiar with, understand and act in accordance with Burning Man's
staff policies, protocols and behavioral standards.Monitor personal
well-being by setting realistic goals and managing self-care while
proactively addressing any concerns with management.Perform other
duties as required
LEARNING AND TEACHING
Documentation - Assists in the
creation, publishing, and maintenance of process documentation
related to their assigned duties.Knowledge sharing - Helps
acculturate and educate junior staff in Burning Man culture and
business processes.Training development - Collaborates with the
education team to develop training materials in their area of
expertise, as requested.Learning - Pursues ongoing learning in
their area of expertise, working to stay current on emergent
knowledge, skills, and processes. -QUALIFICATIONS -Required
Clear, service-oriented and
respectful communication, verbally and written; Able to evaluate,
tailor style and patiently respond to needs for support.Experience
with two-way radio communication with the ability to maintain
professionalism on air.Operates with a high level of behavioral
integrity and discretion of sensitive information; maintains
tidiness in work ethics and the work environment, and remains calm
and focused under pressure.Proficient at navigating digital and
online technology; Able to proactively engage in advanced learning,
clarifying conversations, teach and effectively update existing
online applications, tools, systems, spreadsheets, and
documents.Expert in handling data entry with an attention for
accuracy; highly organized, able to prioritize, and motivated with
the ability to adhere to a strict schedule.Capable of working in an
extreme environment including drastic temperature changes, high
winds, poor air quality and low to no visibility at times.Ability
to temporarily relocate for work at the Burning Man event held in
Gerlach, Nevada.Preferred -
It is helpful if the candidate has
previously been to Burning Man and/or is familiar with its

Valid driver's license and a good
driving record -COMPENSATIONIndividual compensation decisions are
dependent on a variety of factors, including prior experience and
geographical location. The anticipated rate for this position:
From July - September is $15.00 to
$17.00 per hour. -PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Off-playa: - Work is primarily
sedentary in nature, no special demands are required.On-playa: -
Work is primarily sedentary but will also include the need to find
and meet with department representatives who may not be in the
vicinity therefore this could include walking or using some form of
transportation. - Some of the work will be in outside weather
conditions and will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles as
well as possible extremes in temperature.
