(Must live in the U.S) General Summary: The Senior Actuarial
Analyst position will participate in a broad variety of activities
in support of a dynamic, expanding actuarial function in EMPLOYERS.
This position compiles and analyzes company and industry data in
support of actuarial functions like the development, pricing,
control and administration of products offered by the company, in
the estimation of current and future company assets and
liabilities, and in the preparation of financial statements and
other reports. This position may frequently interact independently
with other departments to support various aspects of company
operations. We are an innovative company, actively looking for ways

and Responsibilities:
- Is responsible for the filings area of the Pricing Actuarial
team. This includes the preparation and defense of rate and rule
filings.
- Performs rate indications and develops target loss ratios for
all of EMPLOYERS' jurisdictions.
- Researches bureau and DOI websites for rate (and other
pertinent) updates.
- Supports in the development of new insurance products including
the pricing of new and existing products.
- Regularly reviews environmental, legal, competitive, regulatory
climate, and results for states.
- Assures all rule and rate decisions are clearly and
continuously communicated with management and key
stakeholders.
- Provides IT with rate updates and performs UAT.
- Mentors other member of Pricing Team who handles filings.
- Complete assigned actuarial analysis, under minimal guidance.
This includes utilizing actuarial systems and programming skills to
access and organize the data, performing the applicable actuarial
calculations, analyzing moderate to complex information, evaluating
results and the accuracy of inputs, and updating exhibits and
slides.
- Complete actuarial analysis and other assigned tasks on time
and in keeping with corporate and professional standards, including
all documentation, and proactively communicate project progress and
status to relevant parties.
- Suggest and implement improvements to existing
processes/procedures.
- Act as a technical and peer reviewer for others' work, asking
probing questions when needed. Work with other technical and peer
reviewers to incorporate all changes and commentary.
- Present analysis and/or provide technical and non-technical
information and explanation to peers, senior staff, and other
departments as needed, as well as answer related questions.
- Manage small to medium-sized department projects including
setting up meetings, keeping notes, and ensuring deadlines are
met.
- Request and provide respectful and candid feedback on technical
and non-technical items.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the link between one's own job
responsibilities and the overall organizational objectives, with
knowledge of most company business units.
- Build constructive and effective relationships across the
company, and provide training and guidance to junior actuarial team
members and other staff.
- Other duties as assigned or as business needs arise. Job
Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor's degree, preferably in Actuarial Science,
Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Business. Master's degree or
higher is a plus.
- Minimum 15 years' of progressive actuarial or other insurance
work and experience.
- Has passed a majority of actuarial exams towards ACAS or has an
insurance-related certification (e.g. CPCU, CSPA, WCCA).
- Must have a solid working knowledge of Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint.
- A current knowledge of or a capacity for learning to use other
software products such as SQL, VBA, R Python, and/or commercial
pricing and reserving tools is expected.
- Must be detail oriented and capable of working with minimal
supervision.
- Must be independent and creative in analyzing business results,
developing appropriate solutions or alternatives to problems and
effectively communicating related issues and results to
management.
- Must work well in a team-oriented, collaborative
environment.
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.

- This role is REMOTE opportunity, open to candidates currently
located in the United States and able to work without

- Expected Work Hours: Schedules are set to accommodate the
requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and
may be adjusted as needed.
- Travel: May be required to travel to off-site location(s) to
attend meetings, as necessary Salary Range : $115,000 - $135,000 +
