JOB SUMMARYWorking with the Department of Public Works (DPW)
Business Services Team, the DPW Logistics Sanitation Lead
Dispatcher will deliver high-level organizational support to the
DPW Logistics Manager with fulfillment of sanitation requests and
providing customer service to various Burning Man Departments
throughout the event production cycle. This role will act as the
lead dispatcher for the dispatch team, giving guidance and support
to fellow dispatchers and team processes.This role will primarily
be responsible for assisting with the coordination and servicing of
portos, water tanks, shower facilities and RV pumping for staff at
the Burning Man event. They will efficiently track and manage
information regarding end user requests and changes, scheduling,
prepare vendor dispatch sheets, delegate physical resources and
provide ongoing budgeting notations for end-of-season
reconciliation. - -This temporary, ineligible for benefits role is:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSDocumentation / Administrative Support (80%)
Perform daily administrative duties
such as guiding the dispatch team, calendaring, entering data,
making binders/spreadsheets, and creating diagrams while being
flexible with others' timelines and schedules, and also meeting
Logistics deadlines.Provide clerical support to the DPW Logistics
Manager.Be prepared to seamlessly operate between office and field
objectives on a daily basis.Answer incoming and make outgoing calls
on 2-way radio regarding portos, tank filling and pumping, and
shower facilities regarding placement, issues and removal.Promptly
react to inquiries and observations about defective and
decommissioned resources.Send and respond to emails regarding
sanitation needs, to departments and individuals using respective
resources.Use office equipment to share information: print and copy
requests; scan diagrams and maps.Be accountable for the tracking of
porto locks, their keys, and the individuals entrusted.Maintain
asset binder and its contents.Deliver clear and concise, diplomatic
and empathetic oral and written communications.Take responsibility
to ensure that all new and updated documentation meets the
standards as outlined by management and all relevant information is
captured in its appropriate place.Personnel Management/ Support/
Leadership (15%)
Reasonably and creatively assist
staff with problem-solving efforts and alternate solutions.Maintain
the integrity of the Logistics Department by actively participating
in the correct allocation of resources and assisting departments to
stay within budget and timeline constraints.Receive inquiries,
feedback, changes and scenarios with patience and grace.Tactfully
manage, reassign and redirect workflow using education,
empowerment, and delegation when appropriate or necessary,
monitoring team morale and setting manageable work
expectations.Commit to improving and updating Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP) for this role throughout the season for accuracy.
-Create supporting documentation for training as required.Prepare
written feedback for DPW Management describing the successes of the
season, areas in need of improvement and suggestions with the
purpose of improved overall efficiency for the next year; Submit an
end-of-season EMBER Report.Other Functions and Responsibilities

Work with the Team to plan and
execute LNT and Waste disposal plans for all relevant operations.Be
familiar with, understand and act in accordance with Burning Man's
staff policies, protocols and behavioral standards.Help implement,
adjust and support changing COVID protocols as directed.Participate
in (Manager) Meetings when requested and maintain related
correspondence via assigned Burning Man mailing lists.Attend and
support crew attendance to relevant Meetings and maintain related
correspondence; maintain timely updates and departmental
communications. -Monitor personal well-being, be aware of work
expectations while also setting realistic boundaries, and

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Valid driver's license and a good
driving record. -COMPENSATIONIndividual compensation decisions are
dependent on a variety of factors, including prior experience and
geographical location. The anticipated rate for this position:
From September - September is $15.75
to $18.25 per hour. -PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Off-playa: - Work is primarily
sedentary in nature, no special demands are required.
- On-playa: - Work is primarily sedentary but will also include
the need to find and meet with department representatives who may
not be in the vicinity therefore this could include walking or
using some form of transportation. - Some of the work will be in
outside weather conditions and will be exposed to fumes or airborne
particles as well as possible extremes in temperature.
