Tech Location : 1400 Medical Parkway Carson City, NV 89703
Shift/Hours: Days & Night shift available, Various start times
Holiday requirements: Holidays are required and rotated by staff
with a selection process typically completed in January. On Call
Requirements : No scheduled call in the department unless it is a
holiday, and a tech is needed for procedures. Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of imaging procedures, including CT scans, to
obtain images for use in diagnosis and treatment. Assists
radiologists (physicians) with performing diagnostic and
intervention procedures. Provides patient education Maintains
records of procedures. Must Haves: License: ARRT CT, NV State
Radiation License Certification: Current American Heart Association
(AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)/ Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Experience: Hospital experience preferred, but willing to train
Education: High school diploma or GED About the Unit: Number of
Beds: 2 GE CT scanners, 64 slice and 128 slice Patient Population:
Patients seen during these shifts are exclusively ER or inpatients.
Occasional procedures performed but rare on the shifts available.
CT to patient ratio: Dayshift in the department is 3 technologists
and a tech aid Mon-Fri, and 2 technologists and a tech aid Saturday
and Sunday. After 11pm all days, graveyard tech is solo until 6am.
Average # of admits per day/week: Dayshift can see up to 18 exams
per technologist in a given shift, Graveyard is typically 10 exams
per shift. Department as a whole can see 40-60 exams per day.
