Job Summary: Responsible for outfitting all guests with rental equipment suitable for their needs and explaining safety features. Job Details:Seasonal, full or part time position helping the rental shop team at Palisades Tahoe Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:Provide all customers and employees with top quality customer service in all situations at all timesPromptly acknowledge and greet every guest that enters the store Demonstrate expertise in product features and benefits of all retail items and rental fleet in the storeDetermine guest needs by asking open ended questions and choosing the best equipment for themSize the guest's foot and find the appropriate boot for themRecommend proper ski and pole length (or boot or board length/sizing for snowboards) for ability, age and height and weight of guestMaintain binding certification, ensure proper legal settings of bindingsFollow all binding manufacturers' mandated procedures with regards to binding adjustmentsEnsure all rental contracts are accurately completedExplain in detail to the guest the operation and safety features of their rental equipmentUnderstand and show proficiency in the RTP POS systemCheck that the proper equipment is returned, check for damageEnsure the guest is satisfied with their rental experience and thank them for their business when they are leaving the storeMaintain cleanliness standards of shop and proper storage of equipment Competencies and Job Requirements: Required: Effective communication skills, oral & writtenStrong sense of customer service & safety awarenessAble to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standardsPunctual, able to report at scheduled start timeWork well as part of a team.Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and courtesy. Education and Experience: Required:High School Diploma or GEDOne to three months customer service or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred:Basic knowledge of hand tools.Trained and knowledgeable of ski/snowboard equipment, binding and boot function and use.Experience with a POS system The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits. Base hourly pay range: $18.68 - $24.28 per hour Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
