Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, (as defined by the
Nevada State Board of Nursing: Supervision means direction by a
qualified nurse for the accomplishment of nursing task or activity,
including initial direction and periodic inspection of the actual
accomplishment of the task or activity), provides or assists in
activities of daily living, as well as emotional support to
neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the uses of equipment
specific to the area of employment. This position is responsible to

Challenges of the position include: prioritizing the
responsibilities of equipment/supply maintenance and organization,
patient care, unit safety and general upkeep. This position
organizes and prioritizes the following daily work assignments:

assist in set up for procedures, collect ordered specimens, and
assist with admits and transfers. Reports any unusual findings to
professional nursing staff.

The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary
to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and
safety appropriate to the neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent,
adult and geriatric patient population and meet the standards of
quality as measure by the department age specific competency
standards. This position also provides personal hygiene, mobility,
safety, and comfort for patients.

Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language,
including reading, writing and speaking English. Certificate of
completion from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program
Six months experience in an emergency and critical care patient
BLS certification by American Heart Association within ninety-days
of hire. Completion of EKG monitor class within 6 months of hire.
Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada CNA
Computer / Typing:
Must possess the computers skills necessary to complete online
learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online
forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
