POSITION: Student Worker - Custodian

LOCATION: Districtwide - Operations Department

OPEN TO: Carson City School District Students

APPLICATION PERIOD: Open until filled.

HOURS PER DAY: Vary (Maximum of 15 hours per week during school session)

DAYS WORKED: Monday - Friday

NOTE: This is a temporary, part-time position. Hourly rate of $11.22, without benefits. Bilingual Preferred.

• Must be 16 years of age at time of application.
  • Academic/Attendance Requirements - Must be passing all classes, no F's (grade checks will be done quarterly). School attendance - If absent from school, then the student is unable to work that day.
  • No transportation will be provided. The student will be responsible for his/her own transportation.
  • If a position becomes available, be prepared for an interview.
  • Student workers are only allowed to work during non-instructional hours. This includes distance-learning times.

      Job Description
      A Student Worker Custodian will be assigned to a specific building or school. The worker will be assigned to a lead custodian and duties may include the following: Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition, sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum floors, gather and empty trash, dust furniture and equipment, clean windows, clean whiteboards and mirrors, report major damage, clean desks and tables, move and arrange furniture, and other duties assigned by lead custodian.
      
      Skills Needed: Good communicator, motivated, able to work as a team member, can follow directions, punctual, dependable, and problem solver.
