Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Website:https://www.nnmg.com Medical Office Specialist is responsible for overall functioning of the medical office, which includes patient scheduling check in and check out, insurance authorizations, medical records and supply management. This position requires the ability to multi-task and perform in a fast pace environment. Medical Office Specialist ensures proper functioning of the front office by:

  • Answering multi-phone lines and making copies of documents as necessary.
  • Accurately files patient charts; including scanning documents into files as necessary.
  • Schedules patient appointments as necessary, return visits and Specialists.
  • Pre-authorize prescriptions and clinical tests (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, etc.) as necessary.

      Qualifications

      • High School Diploma or equivalent.
      • One (1) to three (3) years Medical Office experience preferred.
      • Medical terminology and basic mathematical calculations
      • Knowledge of medical clinic functions (scheduling, billing, insurance verifications and authorizations, ICD9 and CPT4 coding, patient procedures, medical records, etc) preferred.
