The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring adherence to Marson Foods Quality Management Program, Food Safety Plan, government regulations, and industry best practices including GMP and HACCP/HARPC. The QA Supervisor will integrate quality assurance and food safety into all functions and roles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as site SQF Practitioner.
  • Ensures adherence to all Marson Foods Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures at all levels within the facility.
  • Ensures Pre-requisite programs are completed according to a specified policy and schedule.
  • Ensure company compliance with all FSMA, 21 CFR Part 117, GFSI and customer requirements.
  • Provides supervision of hourly QA Teammates.
  • Evaluates the skills and training needs of the hourly QA Teammates.
  • Execute training programs that support the Company's objectives.
  • Supervises team building and participates in and contributes to the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Foster and maintain positive Food Safety and Quality culture within the facility.
  • Ensure adherence to manufacturing specifications, standards, protocols, and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to document control parameters and continuously monitor production records which validate product produced is within specification, is traceable, and is safe to the consumer.
  • Monitor and verify corrective and preventive action procedures for troubleshooting production concerns and customer product issues.
  • Ensures Food Safety system verification and validation activities are completed according to specified schedule.
  • Participate in Regulatory and 3rd party audits such as SQF, Organic, Kosher, customer audits and FDA regulatory visits.



    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Successful candidates must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The representative knowledge, skills, and abilities required are listed below.

      • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
      • Possess strict attention to detail.


        EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


        • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University in Science, Food Science or related field preferred.
        • Experience in QA food processing and sanitation highly desired.
        • Certifications in HACCP, SQF, PCQI preferred. May train the right candidate.
        • Proof of certifications may be required.
        • An equivalent combination of education , certifications, and/or experience may be accepted.


          LANGUAGE SKILLS


          • Ability to comprehend and interpret legal code, industry code, technical journals, and legal documents.
          • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
          • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
          • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish speaker is a plus.


            SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

            This position has supervisory responsibilities for 2 off shift Hourly QA positions and oversight of sanitation activities and records.
