Pack Rides seeks candidates for Pack Rides Officer positions to
work a flexible schedule around school hours.ASUN Pack Rides
provides a unique working environment that is both exciting and

the University of Nevada, Reno campus community which includes
helping other students, ensuring safety, and providing reliable
transportation.
- Continuous shuttle on weekends that picks up from campus and
takes students to the WinCo and Walmart shopping centers.
- Nighttime fixed-route shuttle with stops along campus.
- On-demand ride service that runs three miles from campus.Our
mission is to be known as a premier student program and by
promoting safe transportation, we foster the connection where
students can further their education through academics and

program, please visit: Position Duties Include
- Defensive driving strategies to ensure safe and timely
transportation of students, faculty and staff of the University of
Nevada, Reno.
- Employ strong customer service skills to make riders feel
welcome at all times.
- Explain important information about personal safety awareness
to riders.
- Follow all federal, state and local laws.
- Regularly inspect and assess cleanliness and safety of
vehicles.
- Use technology to record statistical usage data of every
service call.
- Define the importance of data and assist in collecting it via
the administration of rider surveys.
- Judge situations to make decisions that ensure the safety of
themselves and others.
- Effectively communicate issues to supervisors at all
times.
- Regularly discuss issues and current events affecting the
campus community to be informed at all times.
- Attend monthly staff meetings to engage in critical discussion
to devise solutions to problems affecting the service and predict
future challenges.
- Assist University Police in keeping campus safe by reporting
suspicious or unsafe activity.Required Qualifications Must be in
good standing as an undergraduate student with the University of
Nevada, Reno.Maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA and earn a minimum 30
credit hours per academic school year (Can include Fall and Spring
Semesters, Wintermester and Summer Sessions) at the University of
Nevada, Reno (Freshman students with no college GPA are eligible,
but must be enrolled in the requisite number of credits).Minimum of
3 years of clean driving experience. DMV driving record printout
required upon offer of employment.Must pass a state and federal
criminal background check upon offer of employment.Must pass a
pre-employment drug and alcohol test upon offer of employment.NOTE:
This position is subject to a pre-employment, post-accident and
reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol test. The candidate selected
for hire will be required to sign a form acknowledging this policy.
Preferred Qualifications Strong judgement, responsible
decision-making skills, strong listening and leadership skills.
Assertive enough to maintain boundaries and restriction in the
interest of safety and Pack Rides Policy. Exceptional defensive
driving skills after dark, often in heavy traffic and/or inclement
weather.SchedulePack Rides Officers enjoy a flexible schedule
working around school hoursSelect a variable schedule to include
evenings and/or weekend hours.Work schedules can vary from 5-20
hours a week based on availability and how many hours you would
like to work.Shift are typically later hours (some start at 5 pm or
7 pm) and weekends to support the programs and mission of Pack
Rides.Compensation GradeStudent Level 1$13.00 per hourTotal
CompensationTotal Compensation includes one meal voucher when
working three or more late night shifts a week.Uniform shirts are
