Job Description:

Knowledge Services is actively seeking a Business Analyst for a 6 months + contract opportunity with our client State of Nevada in Carson City, NV. This role will be working Hybrid with onsite and remote work.

 


The Business Analyst will have the below Responsibilities:

 

  • The contractor will be required to independently learn the full functionality of the Community Health Services (CHS) Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in its entirely to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the system business processes, work flows, configurations and data structures. 
  • This will include becoming an SME on the data contained in the current system in order to create a data mapping and crosswalk and assisting with the data migration to the new system and subsequent configuration and verification. 
  • SME knowledge and technical expertise will be referenced during project planning, implementation, configuration, test script/scenario development and documentation, system testing and verification to ensure that the new system meets all requirements in both the testing and production environments. 
  • The contractor will be responsible for the development of user training manuals and the provision of training to system users including system administrators, super users and end users in all clinic locations.
  • Post Go Live, the contractor will be responsible for all ongoing IT support and maintenance of the system and will be required to interface with the CHS program staff, division IT staff and the vendor staff. 
  • The contractor will also be responsible for System Change Management and Tracking; system administration; detection, analysis, approval, installation, testing and issue resolution related to system maintenance, patches and upgrades; ongoing updates to user training manuals; new user and user refresher training; and future system functionality needs analysis and recommendations.
  • The Community Health Services (CHS) electronic health record system supports urban and rural health clinics in 13 different locations around Nevada.  As a result, travel will be required for this contractor.

The Business Analyst will have the below Qualifications:

 

 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include the support of the implementation of client technology solutions; systems and business process analysis; software application analysis and development; system testing and issue resolution; systems administration; system updates, release implementation and maintenance; user training development and provision; and IT Helpdesk customer support.

 

Required Experience:

  • Detail-oriented analysis, testing and training on information systems and software programs.
  • Ability to independently analyze and learn a software solution to become the system Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Ability to evaluate system and software errors and determine and rectify root causes.
  • Design, recommend and document procedures to test error solutions.
  • Conduct successful software applications and systems integration testing, implementation and maintenance.
  • Provide recommendations for implementation and maintenance procedures.
  • Research, evaluate, test and implement system changes, updates and releases.
  • Ability to learn and use system tools to build and test custom reports and provide training to users.
  • Ability to interview system users to identify needs or concerns to be addressed.
  • Ability to analyze problems independently and in collaboration with vendors and users.
  • Ability to make decisions and use independent judgement to choose appropriate action after reviewing alternatives.
  • Provide technical assistance to application and system users.
  • Develop and provide training to end users.
  • Communicate with users throughout the resolution process to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Professional in Business Analyst (PMI-PBA) or an equivalent certification.
  • Senior-level system and business process analyst responsibilities, including analysis, testing, implementation, support and user training.  Experienced MS Word, Project, Excel, Power Point, Visio and Teams user.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

 

The goal of the project is to ensure that the new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system will enable Community Health Services (CHS) to meet all local, state and federal requirements for the electronic recording and reporting of patient data.  The new solution will provide CHS the capability to interface with WebIZ, the state immunization database, and the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory which partners with CHS to provide services to community patients.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
  • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
