Game Dev Team Summary

Everi's Game Dev team is a supportive, relaxed, non-crunch work culture and we make work fun even in the remote workspace that we function in now, by having fun team events and ensuring that our team members feel appreciated. We are many things and we do our best to make sure we're always improving and listening to the pulse of our teammates.

Available positions:

Software Developer:

The Software Developer position on our Game Dev team makes fun and innovative video and mechanical games for casinos. Our developers work closely with artists, designers, producers, and QA. Games are typically created in a matter of months rather than years, so developers have an opportunity to work on a variety of innovative projects.

The experience required for our Software Developer role can range significantly. We are proud to say that we often hire new grads from a variety of schools for our level 1 developer roles and we also look for Software Developers that have spent their career in the game dev space. We look for great talent, team players, and passion for game development (if even in their personal projects!). Educational background for many of our Software Developers have been focused on development in some capacity, whether focused on game development, Math, and/or a CS degree.

What is essential is a solid understanding of object-oriented development - JS, C++, etc.. Unity knowledge is helpful, but not essential, as we believe it can be taught. You should understand inheritance and debugging well and should have an understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies. A code challenge is part of our process so we can see how you think through problems to find solutions. What's important to us is to find real go-getter's who are hungry to develop games and like to collaborate cross-functionally with the various key contributors of our games.

Artist:

The Artist position at Everi is a collaborative one. Our artists work closely with Software Developers and Mathematicians, amongst others in the Game Design space. This role is a busy one - in a good way! You will have an opportunity to touch all of the aspects of art production (initial art, production art, animation art, and everything in between!).

The skillset that we look for in Artist candidates are skill with graphic design and illustration. We're looking for that artist who can look at a photograph, manipulate it, and turn it into art for our casino games. Experience as an illustrator is a must and a balance of 2D animation and 3D is a plus. (Strong 3D with no interest or ability with 2D won't be the best fit for our range of casino games). A degree in Graphic Arts or similar is helpful, but we also look for great experience and are open to educational background.

One thing we know for sure is that no Artist is created equal and while a degree is great, we also would love to hear from you if you live and breathe graphic art and you have paved your own road that lead to a solid skillset for casino games

Mathematician / Game Designer:

Do you use probability the way that artists use color? Do you feel an inclination toward probabilities and discrete math? Then let's chat about joining our team as a Mathematician.

You'll be a part of an amazing group of developers, artists, QA's, producers, and more! You'll be creating the next big-hit, innovative slot machine. Extra bonus: you will get to play the games you created as you're working in one of Everi's game studios!

Producer:

If you have strong project management skills and experience in agile development with a flavor of creativity, this is the role for you! Scrum Masters have previously also done well in this position. Producers keep everyone aligned while having the overall goal of the game in mind the entire time. If you are a sheepherder that always keeps everyone in line, then let's chat! The insight into all aspects of the game creation process, along with getting to work with all our amazing coworkers who make these games come to fruition makes this a position unlike any at our company.

What's in it for you?

  • Gaming industry development without the worry about long, arduous hours involved with game releases (translation: work-life balance).
  • Fast-paced development cycle, work on multiple different game projects in a year.
  • Be part of a growing, on-the-rise company in the slot industry.
  • Be part of our Unity rollout!
  • Be part of building something from scratch.
  • Enjoyable team dynamics, collaborative environment, and opportunity for growth.
  • Discretionary PTO - the perfect way to prevent burnout and improve productivity!
