This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations
and compliance in accordance with federal and state law, Joint
Commission standards. This includes the scheduling of employees,
and the completion of all daily computer reports. This position is
also responsible for supplying pharmaceutical needs to clients,
counseling clients regarding their medications, and communicating
with physician/providers regarding Clients' medication.
Nature and Scope:
This position is responsible for pharmaceutical decisions on a
day-to-day basis. The Lead Pharmacist must be able to train and
oversee day-to-day activities of pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy
residents, interns, students and clerks, as well as the oversight
of pharmacy interns, students and technicians for accuracy as it
relates to regulatory compliance, and coordination of workload.
This position is responsible to ensure that all facility required
training including OLAs are completed by staff. Any concerns
regarding staff performance must be escalated to leadership.
This position is also challenged to provide pharmaceutical care
to each of its customers to varying extent; the preparation,
distribution, and handling of pharmaceuticals; patient counseling,
advice for administration, provision of drug information, within
Renown Health. A primary responsibility is to ensure that workflow
is efficient, that high levels of customer satisfaction and
courtesy are achieved, and that medications are prepared in a
timely and expeditious manner.
The major challenge is to harmoniously bridge the distributive
responsibilities of the pharmacy with the clinical
responsibilities. This position is responsible for ensuring that
medications are dispensed in a timely, efficient, accurate manner
with the assistance of the technical staff. In addition, this
position is responsible for monitoring and influencing drug
therapy. The incumbent can recommend appropriate drug therapy to
the physician, and is expected to initiate appropriate formulary
policy and procedures.

known as the Pharmacist in Charge for the State of Nevada for the
Renown Health Pharmacy and fulfill all the regulatory duties
thereof. "Managing Pharmacist" defined means a registered
pharmacist who is responsible for the operation of a pharmacy, to
be in charge of pharmacy; exceptions; managing pharmacists, etc.
This position is responsible for compliance of the pharmacy and is
expected to include management for guidance and decision making.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language,
including reading, writing and speaking English.
Appropriate education to obtain and maintain Pharmacy licensure
State of Nevada. Pharmaceutical Doctorate education
Two years of retail/outpatient pharmacy experience and/or
inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Pharmacist
Healthcare BLS within the first 90 days of employment is
required for all locations. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
within the first 90 days of employment is required for location
