Summary of Position:

The Database Administrator is involved in day-to-day management of enterprise databases, as well as in supporting various aspects of technical, installation, operational and performance operations. The Database Administrator performs backups, maintenance, and scalability operations for enterprise database servers and the connecting assets. The Database Administrator also performs reporting/dashboarding tasks based on the requests submitted to the Data Management Office.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • AS or BS degree in Information Systems or related discipline. Experience:
    • One to three years of experience with Epic Clarity - Ambulatory, Professional Billing, Tapestry, or Reporting Workbench preferred, other Epic reporting tools a plus
    • One to three years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field.
    • Experience with Windows Server environments.
    • Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle).
    • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Teamwork and collaboration
      • Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools, Crystal Reporting, and Business Objects.
      • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
      • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.
      • Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
      • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills
      • Ability to identify issues, prioritize and problem solve to resolution
      • Impeccable attention to detail Certifications/Licensure:
        • Epic Clarity Certification (desired)
        • MCSA: SQL Database Administration (desired) Physical Demands

            • Provide consistently exceptional care at all times.
            • Troubleshooting and maintaining the organization's database infrastructure.
            • Install and update database software.
            • Designing, implementing, and testing databases.
            • Design, develop, test, and maintain changes, upgrades and fixes to reports using most appropriate report development technology and MS SQL
            • Gather and understand reporting requirements to ensure the alignment with Barton Health's mission and vision.
            • Design, develop, test, and maintain scheduling of reports/data extracts and distribution.
            • Work with stakeholders to ensure user acceptance testing and a complete delivery of reporting/analysis solution.
            • Responds to the needs of the department by performing other duties, as necessary.
