DescriptionThe University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an
Administrative Assistant 3 for the Department of Computer Science
and Engineering. This position does not offer layoff rights and is
contingent upon funding. The major duties of this position include
tasks such as coordinating travel requests and expense reports,
organizing department meetings, assisting in general office
operations and departmental communications, processing student
employment contracts, coordinating graduate program admissions and
activities, assisting in academic-related requests such student
advising, textbook request coordination and assisting faculty in
posting of grades. This position is also responsible in
coordinating with faculty on graduate/undergraduate related
processes, assisting student club managers and officers with event
purchases and planning, and other duties as assigned.Required
QualificationsGraduation from high school or equivalent education
and three years of progressively responsible relevant work
experience which included experience in one or more of the
following areas: maintenance of complex records and files;
public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies,
regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of
financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims
and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with
projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an
Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an
equivalent combination of education and experience as described
above.ScheduleThe typical work schedule is Monday through Friday
from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on
organizational needs.Compensation GradeGrade 27 (Entry, Step 03
$19.32/hr. - Step 07 $22.83/hr.)In classified service, salary is in
Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada
Administrative Code. A request to accelerate salary must be
approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative
