Job SummaryMD Labs is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, and that excellent technical support is provided. • Install and configure software, hardware and networks
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and outages, and maintain systems according to requirements
• Ensure security and efficiency of IT infrastructure
• Manage network servers and technology tools
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
• Review and propose changes and updates for IT/IS policies and procedures
• Backup systems and verify that backups have been completed
• Assist in integrating new applications and technologies into the current system
• Provide metrics, statistics and reports to management and coworkers when needed
• Evaluate and optimize system performance of servers and workstations
• Provide insight and recommendations into technology infrastructure upgrades
• Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
• Thorough documentation of all systems and change control
• All other duties assigned Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline; experience may be substituted
  • Three years' experience in the administration of firewalls (Palo Alto preferred), switches (Juniper preferred), various network monitoring tools, and VPNs.
  • Knowledge of databases, networks, infrastructure and patch management
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Ability to create scripts in modern scripting languages
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude; ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
  • Excellent communication skills; strong attention to detail
  • Professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), GIAC certifications) is a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business
  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary Preferred Skills
    • Hyper-V and Failover Cluster experience
    • Networking (VLANs, static and dynamic routing, NAT, VPN, etc)
    • Server 2012R2 through 2019; Windows 10
    • PowerShell or other Windows scripting language
    • Hyper-converged infrastructure
    • Azure/AWS experience a plus
