University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Accounting
Assistant 3 for the Payroll Office. This position reviews employee
Workday records against NSHE salary schedules to ensure that name,
employee ID number, social security number and annualized salary
are correct; processes reports to ensure proper taxes, retirement,
Medicare calculations/deductions, and payroll liability deductions
are accurate.The Accounting Assistant 3 will troubleshoot payroll
related problems, correct any miscalculations, and act as
front-line support to employee group regarding payroll.Other duties
include monitoring banking details and authorization of on demand
payments, correct over-payments and sending out liability reports
to various agencies.Required QualificationsThis position requires
graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3)
years of progressively responsible clerical accounting experience
which included duties such as responsibility for accounts payable,
accounts receivable, payroll and/or other accounting data; setting
up computer spreadsheets to record, track organize and report data;
researching and interpreting financial to data prepare reports and
respond to budget and accounts related inquiries; and reconciling
accounts; OR one (1) year of experience as an Accounting Assistant
II in Nevada State service which included clerical accounting
duties as described above; OR an equivalent combination of
education and experience as described above.ScheduleThe typical
work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm;
this is subject to change based on organizational
needs.Compensation GradeGrade 27 (Entry, Step 01 $17.80/hr.)In
classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is
determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary
placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined
based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal
equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved
by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.To
