Under the direction of the clinic provider, the Resource Team
Medical Assistant is accountable for
assisting the providers in all back office procedures in all Renown
Medical Group and Urgent Care
facilities. This position is expected to travel to all sites to
provide coverage for vacancies, leave time, and
sick calls. This position could be called upon to provide support
to the front office if business needs
These responsibilities could include patient check in and checkout
procedures. The incumbent has the
added responsibility of providing a direct liaison between provider
and patient, making certain that the
patient's questions and concerns have been addressed. The Resource
Team need to maintain
competencies to work on all medical groups and urgent cares to
ensure patient needs are met in a
timely manner. The position must have the flexibly and willingness
to work in all facilities.
Nature and Scope
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the provider in
all back office duties including but not
limited to: escorting the patient from the waiting room to the
examination room promptly, taking vital
signs as per guidelines, maintaining examination rooms' stock,
documentation of all patient
communications, preparing lab specimens for processing, filling out
the necessary referral forms and
keeping records of the same, scheduling patients for tests,
returning phone calls in the order of
importance and filing into patient charts to become part of a
permanent record, and administering
treatments and medications per provider order in accordance with

complicated by new techniques, paperwork,
changing department and hospital policies, increased information
available on each patient, and
fluctuations in staffing, with the additional responsibility to
float to all facilities as business needs
The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary
to provide care based on physical,
motor/sensor, psychosocial and safety appropriate to the age of the
patient served and meet the
standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age
specific competency standard.
This position will keep abreast of all standards to assure
compliance with federal, state and local
regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with federal, state and
local regulatory agencies including third party reimbursement
requirements. This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language,
writing and speaking English. Mathematical skills and basic
Two (2) years of experience in a provider office practice required.

Valid CA or NV Driver's license.
Current State of Nevada license for Office Laboratory Assistant or
must be submitted within 90 days of employment. Failure to apply
receive license within 90 days will result in discharge.
Current AHA BLS/CPR required. Current Certified Medical Assistant
certification, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified
Assistant (CCMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or
