This individual will function in PACU - environment. - Provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. - Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. - Assists with the maintenance of PHA and PACU equipment and inventory. - Participates in performance improvement activities. - Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care of patients undergoing surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures. - Responsible for monitoring patient's physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment. - Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist immediately and as needed about patient condition; receives direction for patient management. - Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis. - Proficient in pain management, guidelines and medication dosing. - Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. -Job Duties/Responsibilities: -

  • Demonstrates supportive -behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR
  • Perform head to toe pre-procedure assessment on all patients and reassesses post procedure as needed
  • Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care as indicated and evaluates for effectiveness. -
  • Adequately assess and reassess pain. - Utilizes appropriate pain management techniquess. - -

      Qualifications

      • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
      • Current Nevada nursing license.
      • Current BLS certificate.
      • Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care PACU setting.
      • Current ACLS requireed.
      • Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required speciality.
