Job Description:

Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) registered nurse delivers pre-procedural and post-procedural high-quality care for pediatric through geriatric age range of patients with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Provides care and teaching for patients who will have or have had sedation/analgesia and/or anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic or therapeutic procedures focusing on the phase I recovery, phase II recovery, and/or extended observation nursing care. Nursing practice is systematic, integrative and holistic, and involves assessment, critical thinking, clinical decision making and inquiry. The PACU nurse works in perioperative services which serves outpatient pain clinic, and surgical patients.
