At -a Glance

Legrand -has an exciting opportunity for a Test Enineering Manager to join the DPC Team in Reno, NV.

Under general direction of the Director of Operations Engineering, the Test Engineering Manager will plan, schedule, coordinate, allocate resources and control processes for Automated Test Engineering Team and related projects. The Test Engineering Manager will be responsible for a team that supports all phases of production testing. The team is responsible for developing test scripts and for the automated testing process. The manager Interface with local and remote production testing including trouble shooting units under test and test equipment defects. The Test Engineering Manager will ensure that all assigned duties are performed efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals.

Main Job Duties:


  • Design, and maintain real-time test applications with hardware interfacing utilizing VB Dot Net.
  • Provides technical support to Production, Troubleshoots analog and digital circuits, as well as electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Create hardware testing applications and fixtures for PCB's and finished product in a production environment.
  • Monitor and improve First Pass Yield testing. Provide real-time application support in a production environment
  • Create and maintain various Web and Win form database utilities, applications and SQL queries
  • Develop test specifications, scopes, and objectives and ensure technical feasibility of projects involving all relevant parties.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and manage projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, manufacturing, and operations to enact improvement and meet commitments.
  • Analyze and monitor processes, resources, and documentation for successes and potential improvements.
  • Promote a safe, clean and organized work environment. Ensure correct use of equipment throughout the quality assurance environment.
  • Responsible for managing the budgets, staffing, reviews, and coordination of training and development.
  • Develop, monitor and report on overall engineering performance/metrics.
  • Promote a positive attitude, positive relations, and a sense of urgency with coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

    Qualifications
    Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University with emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience: A minimum of 5 years of firmware development experience or similar experience and prior project management experience.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

    • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a team.
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate multiple priorities to deadlines.
    • Able to develop VB.NET Win form and dll based application software to interface with electronics hardware
    • Proficient with GUI development
    • Experience with: I2C, RS-232, RS-485,USB
    • Proficient with SQLite /SQL Server, SQL database development
    • Familiarity with electronic components and electric circuits
    • Experience with XML, HTML, Java Script, ASPX Dot Net a plus.
    • Good organizational skills. Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information and coordinate project plans across multiple groups within the Company.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process.

        Work environment is fast paced and priorities can shift quickly. All employees are expected to go outside their primary responsibilities when required, and multi-task job duties on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
