Job Description:
Position Purpose The Director of Environmental Services at
Renown Regional Medical Center is responsible for planning,
scheduling, and implementing the housekeeping and linen services on
the campus in order to assure a safe and efficient environmental
services program. In this position, the Director coordinates
day-to-day operational activities with the supervisory housekeeping
team, administers the departmental quality assurance/continuous
quality improvement program, assists with contract supervision,
coordinates immediate work activities, ensures appropriate
utilization of resources, and helps facilitate efficient patient
throughput. Nature and Scope The Director of Environmental Services
utilizes delegation of authority in the operation and production
techniques to ensure hospital cleanliness and linen services are
managed. It is the responsibility of the Director to set,
prioritize and meet the organizational strategic goals through
appropriate business planning, policy formulation and the
establishment of concrete objectives, and ensure their fulfillment
through the effective management of human, financial, information
and physical resources for the Environmental and Linen Departments.
The Director is responsible for meeting financial/budgetary and
regulatory requirements. This position is also responsible for all
aspects of The Joint Commission compliance. This position does not

Qualifications Requirements - Required and/or Preferred Name
Description Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the
English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
A bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field or equivalent
experience preferred. Experience: A minimum of five years
progressive experience in acute hospital operations management is
required. License(s): None Certification(s): RCRA and Hazardous
Waste Operator Frist Responder Training required within 90 days of
employment and annually thereafter; Certified Healthcare
Environmental Services Program (CHESP) certification preferred.
Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite,
including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability
to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for
job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies,
complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
