The Clarkson Knife Gate Valve Global Product Manager plays a key role in strategically positioning the KGV portfolio for success. The primary responsibility is to manage the formulation and execution of global product strategy, along with supporting day-to-day business. The PM has commercial decision-making authority over the portfolio and must be a cross-functional leader of relevant Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Sales stakeholders to manage both general product requirements and deliver strategic improvements. In a majority of cases, the Product Manager must lead without direct authority and find a way to deliver. This role reports to the Product Director within the Knife Gate Valve Strategic Business Unit. Responsibilities

• 
  
• Drive lifecycle performance and profitability (gross margin) of a set of product lines. Grow product lines in new profitable applications, market segments, and geographies. Recommend and/or assist in the development of "go-to-market" plans for products in partnership with Sales.
  
• Overall global responsibility for product / solution family performance and product family contribution to include development of business cases and final decisions around target cost basis, margins, pricing, major projects, regional market entry / exit, and overall strategic direction for the product line and solution
  
• Provide commercial, technical, supply chain and financial leadership for product line to drive sustainable, profitable growth
  
• Responsible for collaborating with aftermarket team to establish spare part pricing and adjusting as the product's position changes in the lifecycle
  
• Ensures continued line of business portfolio balance and alignment with strategic / financial objectives
  
• Provide product management leadership for assigned product families while working alongside cross-functional teams for sales, marketing, operations and R&D
  
• Develop and review regional and global marketing collateral for product lines
  
• Support branding review/positioning initiatives as required.
  
• Recommend product enhancements and extensions
  
• Work closely with portfolio BDM's to develop and provide relevant tools to promote products & solutions (application guide, industrial guide, competitive guide---.)
  
• Identify and execute portfolio-enhancing improvement and/or cost-out programs - includes features, enhancements, and rationalization / obsolescence programs
  
• Develop, maintain, and communicate product roadmap - includes new products, tiers, features, enhancements, and applications, value engineering, cost reduction activities, and M&A activities to achieve year-over-year growth
  
• Conduct voice of customer research, visit customers, and attend industry events to understand competitive threats and unmet customer needs
  
• Manage global product certifications
  
• Execute annual routine portfolio review to determine opportunities for rationalization and obsolescence of products
  
• Develop and maintain global price lists
  
• Develop and maintain global product configuration options
  
• Execute annual routine price review to identify price opportunities and execute global and regional strategies
  
• Set clear quote / no quote guidelines and ensure PSQ adoption
  
• Manage special pricing agreements (SPA) for select opportunities
  
• Develop and maintain product collateral targeted at core industries and applications - content should relate key product features to customer KPIs and/or pains
  
• Work with central marketing group to support online content and campaigns
  
• Support PSQ, Emerson entities, and customer requests as required
  
• Support and/or provide product training to customers and Emerson stakeholders
  
• Manage Delegation of Authority (DOA) with world areas
  
• Develop and communicate product reports as required
  Required Experience/Attributes:
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's Degree in either Business or Engineering, MBA desirable
    
  • 3- 5 years or more of relevant experience at product company; relevant experience includes product management, engineering, technical sales, operations, supply chain - prior product management experience strongly desirable but not required
    
  • Strong presentation skills required
    
  • Technical aptitude and strong collaboration skills required
