Candidate needs to have - Food Production Ops Management Exp in the Meat Packing Industry. The Director of Operations is responsible for leading all operational aspects of the company and specifically supporting the aggressive and successful growth plans. This position is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and advises the Division President and other members on all relevant issues relating to operations, but also acts on behalf of the company in any way necessary to support company initiatives and customer satisfaction. Through a methodical, respectful, constructive, and energetic style, the Director of Operations provides the leadership, management, and vision to inspire a focus on operational excellence, people systems, productivity, cost control, and a bias towards action. As a visible leader and subject matter expert, the incumbent will demonstrate leadership in all areas of Operations activities, including but not limited to; Processing, Receiving, Selecting, Staging, Shipping, Routing, and Inventory Control processes, product knowledge, product offerings, training and development activities, ERP functions, and Foods Safety/Quality assurance. This leadership role is very "hands-on" with a strong focus on product, process, KPIs, team member engagement, and strategic department growth initiatives, as well as a consistent and thorough oversight of all department reporting activities. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Provide operational leadership to the organization that delivers on strategic initiatives while honoring the company's adopted mission and core values. Develop, coach and mentor direct reports with a strong emphasis on continual improvement, skill development, high quality work, teamwork, and active engagement. Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement Use analytical thinking to make critical decisions and solve real-world business problems Develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization. Support our focus on exceptional customer experience and authentic customer partnership by delivering on our brand promise Build consensus among conflicting points of view through active discussion Develop trust and confidence with sales, purchasing and related staff through a collaborative and action-oriented style Drive improvement in productivity through training, process, technology, structure, innovation, etc Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and operational costs in each managed department to achieve financial objectives including regular contribution to company Flash Report. Advance organizational stability and performance through collaboration, change and risk management Ensure continual compliance with all regulatory and federal agencies Ensure safety regulations are followed and create a culture of safety Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community. Comprehensively manage direct reports, including but not limited to; Production, Shipping & Receiving, and Facility Maintenance Leaders Actively engage in cross-functional efforts ensuring all departments are informed about and confident in operational processes Ensure order fill rate on all products (stock, manufactured, and special order) meets/exceeds established level Ensure recent, accurately completed efficiency and process tests occur and accurate LPO standards are regularly updated in system formulas Continuously monitor and measure LPO standards and manage cadence of formula updates Manage efforts to ensure all operational KPI's meet/exceed "expected" standards. Correct root cause challenges with all KPI's in a timely, effective, and complete manner Ensure quality of product and packing specifications are met and any out of spec events are corrected - Build and Manage Process Spec/Best practices Guide and ensue daily use. Manage all aspects of Operations department people development and retention, and ensure processes and knowledge are always conducive to safe, efficient, and effective manufacturing of all products Consistently participate in innovation efforts and propose new product opportunities to leadership, sales, and merchandising staff. This includes updates and reimagine efforts with existing product lines Review, approve, and take-action on daily KPI reporting details Ensure All operations associates are consistently focused on food safety awareness and that regularly scheduled trainings with QA team are scheduled and executed Lead effort to ensure "pride in workmanship" culture and promote as best-in-class approach Represent Operations department with suppliers, brokers, and other company partners and add input to strategic decision making regarding adding/discontinuing products and supplies Represent Operations Department in weekly leadership meetings as well as other leadership functions Lead preparation and delivery of Performance improvement plans as needed in partnership with Sr. leadership and HR team Food & Physical Safety Perform duties to SQF (Safe Quality Food) level 2 standards and requirements. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), policies and procedures. Understand and complete your responsibilities under Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the position and/or task. Investigate any accidents, incidents, near misses immediately. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Work within established safe work practices, policies, and procedures. Work Environment/Physical Demands This job operates in an office, warehouse, and production environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines as well as oversight of all production room equipment. Associate will spend up to 75% of their time in refrigerated/frozen environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
