PositionOur Safety Managers oversee an operation's safety program
and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
We hire individuals who make safety and customer service their top
priorities.
- Coordinate compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and
work closely with General Manager or Designee to accomplish company
objectives
- Manage driver training and may conduct driver training,
recommend retraining and discipline as required
- Conduct or supervise interviewing, selection, and recruitment
of an adequate number of operator applicants to effectively provide
safe, efficient, service
- Oversee accident investigations and corrective actions moving
forward
- Conduct or assist General Manager with safety training and
meetings. Review accident reports to reduce the number and severity
of accidents, maintain complete safety files (an example is
accident report, I-9, bus reports, worker compensation injury
reports)
- Maintain or coordinate complete personnel record keeping.
Maintain substance abuse fileQualifications
- 2 to 3 years of transportation, safety, or related
experience
- Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding
safety and environmental issues
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time
effectively
- Good verbal, written, and relational communication skills, with
the ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels
including drivers, customers, senior management, client
representatives, union officials, and the general public
- Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and
punctuality
- Possess working vehicle to travel within the service area as
