We are looking for a self-motivated candidate with equal parts creativity and productivity, big picture thinking, and attention to detail. As a business development manager, you will collaborate with the executive leadership, project staff, and office personnel to lead the marketing and business development efforts by creating tasks and processes to expand and implement growth strategies.
The ideal candidate will be someone who desires a diverse job scope and possesses a high degree of initiative and follow-through to develop and implement a strategic vision for business development and marketing. Based out of Reno, Nevada or a regional office, this position gives you a place to grow and take your career to the next level. A remote work arrangement will be considered for a period of up to six months based on qualifications.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Report to, and partner with, the Vice President of Corporate Strategy to develop the overall marketing strategy that supports corporate goals and objectives for growth
  • Develop a strategic vision and implementation plan
  • Create an internal business development team with client managers and execute all marketing and business development tasks
  • Orchestrate involvement in all relationship management including strategic alliances, industry organizations, and client/community events
  • Serve as an active member of the leadership team
  • Develop organization marketing/sales tracking processes and metrics and provide KPIs/reports to leadership team
  • Serve in a forward-facing role with clients including small to medium sized public utilities in Nevada and California
  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and management of all marketing and BD staff (1-4 staff)

    Position Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or other related field
    • 6 or more years of relevant marketing and business development experience. Previous experience in the A/E/C industry is a plus
    • Ability to create and implement strategic plan that aligns with organizational goals
    • Ability to train and develop specific Business Development plans for technical Seller-Doers
    • Willing to travel, as needed (less than 30% of time) Skills
      • Excellent English verbal and written communication and presentation skills
      • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
      • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
      • Experience working in a challenging, constantly evolving environment

        Relocation costs will be provided by Farr West Engineering.
        Annual Salary: $100,000 to $130,000 based on qualifications
