Manager of Accounts PayableRequisition id: 151245Department: 100611 DisbursementsFacility: Renown HealthSchedule: Full TimeShift: DayCategory: ManagementLocation: Reno,NVPosition Purpose: The Manager of Accounts Payable is under the direction of the Controller for Renown Health.Incumbent is responsible for the timely and accurate processing and disbursement of Renown Healths vendor obligations, management of the accounts payable staff, ensuring the integrity of the accounts payable systems, accurate and timely filing of all federal, state and local accounts payable reports in accordance with applicable laws and regulations (1099 filing, etc.). Nature and Scope:The major challenges to this position are: Computer processing of accounts payable. Effectively working with external and internal auditors. Working with vendors and employees in an efficient and courteous manner. Timely and accurate monthly close of accounts payable and related reports.Maintaining an engaged, highly-productive staff.Ensuring adherence to established policies by all employees.Ensuring an effective system of internal controls surrounding the accounts payable functions.Preparing and recommending operating and personnel budget for approval.Monitoring spending for adherence to budget, recommending variances as necessary. Managing month-end closing of financial records and posting of month end information, ensuring accuracy of financial statementsThis individual will perform non-routine accounting support duties as well as specialized calculations, postings and accounting functions.Maintains a well-referenced and easily retrievable filing system of all employee records and vendor files as well as other related documentation.Involved in developing, modifying and executing policies that affect immediate operation(s) and may have wider impact.The position may include, but is not limited to, administration of corporate programs such as petty cash, freight, travel, corporate cards, statistical reporting to management, preparation of sensitive reports, reconciliation of difficult vendor account discrepancies and customer service.Individual should have a working knowledge of accounting principles, auditing concepts, internal controls and IRS, federal, state and local regulations.This position will maintain and provide education to employees and department leaders on the accounts payable functions.Works across departments to identify and resolve roadblocks. Identifies root cause and implements strategic procedures and policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.The incumbent has the authority to prioritize and schedule processes within the specific goals and objectives established by the Controller; to determine the specific methods and to correct errors when they occur.This position will hire, orient, train, assign and check the work of the accounts payable team as well as manage workflow. Ensures that all staff reviews are given on an annual basis and meets with staff on a regular basis.Must have excellent oral and written communication as well as interpersonal skills.The individual should demonstrate excellent decision and problem solving skills and an ability to positively interact across all levels of the organization while providing input on issue resolution as well as process and policy improvement needs. Minimum Qualifications:Requirements Required and/or Preferred Education: Requires a Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance or business administration from an accredited college or university.Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Experience: A minimum of five to seven years of recent supervisory and/or processing of the accounts payable function.Preference given to health care industry experience. Minimum of three years of supervisory/management experience.License(s): None required Certification(s): None required Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook,PowerPoint, Excel and Word andhave the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
