Gastroenterology Consultants is recruiting for an experiencedManager of Clinic Nursing Services. The office is part of the largest gastroenterology group in Northern Nevada a physician-owned practice with 18 physicians and 5 advanced practice providers. General_Summary_of_Duties: An exempt, management position responsible for leading and directing clinical nursing. This position is responsible for all clinic nursing staff, clinical nursing operations, and the pathology laboratory, including regulatory requirements throughout the Clinics. The Manager of Clinic Nursing Services directly oversees the productivity, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting of all activities of these departments. The Manager, Clinic Nursing Services establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments and staff at all levels to provide a unified approach to patient care. This position coordinates multiple functions including the evaluation of quality of care/service, continuous quality improvement, quality assurance, benchmarking, patient safety, patient satisfaction/grievances, risk management, infection control, safety and regulatory compliance. The MCNQM (Manager, Clinic Nursing & Quality Management) must be able to exercise discretion in delegating responsibilities to staff and foster ongoing rapport and communication with physicians and other providers, the management team, clinic nursing services members and other departments in order to provide sound information and support. This position is an active participant in all operational areas as appointed (including any new initiatives) by preparing and presenting pertinent analyses. This position requires a high-energy' individual with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate staff. Essential_Functions: 1. Participates at senior-management level in planning, budgeting, policy making, and decision making related to operations involving nursing staff and the Pathology Laboratory. The Manager works to ensure facility compliance with all existing and new applicable regulations; providing guidance in the interpretation of regulations, policy development and implementation throughout the Centers and Clinics. 2. Ensures that nursing aspects related to risk management, reimbursement, financial management, and other administrative functions are incorporated into operational systems. Monitors outcomes, budget results, patient satisfaction surveys, and other indicators of nursing performance. 3. Establishes a human resources plan for clinic nursing including need for numbers and types of nurses and related allied health staff. Works with human resources specialist and team leaders to recruit, select, orient, and train new staff. 4. Ensures the performance and productivity of all clinic nursing and pathology staff are evaluated on a regular basis throughout the year and annually. Advises on appropriate corrective actions and development opportunities. 5. Responsible for managing, motivating, and serving as a resource for the Histology Supervisor. Works with Histology Supervisor to ensure pathology lab is compliant with regulatory and accrediting agencies. 6. Serves as the Patient Safety Officer for each Center, in compliance with State Regulations. 7. Oversight responsibility for OSHA compliance throughout the organization; serves as the Safety Chair for the company. 8. Oversight responsibility for Infection Control program throughout the organization. 9. Serves as a liaison for risk management issues. a. Provides leadership in investigation of occurrences, adverse events and other patient care concerns; provides root cause analysis as applicable. b. Reviews, investigates, trends and reports all incident / occurrence reports and adverse events to appropriate committees. Recommends and follows up on corrective actions based on individual reports or trends. Reports to quality management and peer review as appropriate. c. Recommends appropriate actions for risk reduction 10. Maintains high quality of care by nursing staff through continuous improvement of standards and protocols. Ensures all staff are trained in quality assurance/control requirements and meet these standards. Supports and provides in-service education on designated topics as needed and/or requested; assists in developing and administering required annual training. 11. Actively participates in professional organizations. 12. Stays current with state, federal, and payer regulations/requirements and updates professional standards for nursing for the medical practice appropriately. Manager_Core_Essential_Functions: 1. Works in conjunction with the CFO and ED in developing and maintaining a cost effective budget. Responsible for monitoring and approving all departmental purchases. 2. Responsible for promoting, supporting and implementing the GIC Employee Code of Conduct. 3. Ensures that all GIC and Departmental policies and procedures are adhered to. 4. Responsible for leading direct reports in achieving GIC and Departmental goals. 5. Provides timely and efficient 90 day and annual performance evaluations for direct reports if applicable. 6. Oversees that departmental orientation and initial and ongoing training is conducted for all employees in the department. 7. Responsible for determining staffing needs for the department. As applicable, partakes in the interview process and works in conjunction with the Supervisor on the hiring decision. Coordinates with Supervisor and/or HR on the recruitment and new employee orientation of new staff. 8. Addresses errors and concerns with staff, and provides constructive feedback as appropriate and needed. Coordinates with HR Manager, Department Director and/or Supervisor on departmental disciplinary actions. 9. Participates in monthly staff meetings as applicable and requested by departments, to review departmental, corporate and procedural issues. Responsible for providing continuing education, and the dissemination of practice information as needed to staff. Documents all meetings with detailed records of items discussed and employee attendance. Records are forwarded to Executive Director. 10. Produces practice management reports as requested. 11. Works with the Executive Director and other Directors implementing process improvements, problem solving and the identification and resolution of operational issues. 12. Attends corporate meetings as assigned, to assist in the identification of corporate operational issues and assist in resolution. Maintains confidentiality and utilizes discretion on business matters. Information is shared in a timely manner with staff as appropriate. Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required; Master of Science (MSN) preferred or master s in business, health administration or other related field. Experience/Skills/Knowledge: 1. Prior leadership level experience in Nursing Management, 3 or more years required. 2. Prior leadership level experience in Quality Management strongly preferred. 3. Two years of experience in ambulatory surgery center or endoscopy center strongly preferred 4. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and agencies associated with ambulatory surgery center (ASC) strongly preferred. 5. Training in Infection Control required 6. Membership of specialty society preferred. 7. Must be self directed and have ability to manage time and multitask effectively. Requirements: 1. Current Nevada Registered Nurse license in good standing required. 2. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required 3. Computer experience in word processing, excel spreadsheets and electronic medical records required. 4. Must have reliable transportation that allows you the ability to go between various locations as needed and necessary. Environmental_Working_Conditions: Combination of office and patient care areas. Frequent potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, infectious waste, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a patient care environment.
