Position Details: Electric Motor Mechanic Locations: Longview, Reno, NV Schedule: Standard hours with the ability to work overtime as needed Salary: $30-$40/hr Travel: 0% Benefits: Relocation Assistance, 401(k) Employer Match, Medical, Dental, Vision The Electric Motor Mechanic is responsible for repairing various types of electromechanical equipment. Specifically, you will be responsible for the dismantling, inspection, and repair of electric motors up to 30,000HP. Key Responsibilities: --- Test electromechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (AC or DC), and retest reassembled equipment for proper output and operation. --- Disassemble electromechanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition. --- Clean all electromechanical equipment such as: parts washers, steamers, caustic tanks, glass beaders, etc. --- Measure for or note proper replacement parts. Replace and/or repair worn or defective mechanical or electromechanical assemblies. --- Operate specialized repair and testing equipment as needed. --- Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis. --- Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear. --- Maintain clean work area as directed by management. --- Other skilled and non-skilled duties as assigned. . Requirements: --- Proven ability to proficiently work on AC, DC and Synchronous motors as well as Babbitt Bearing Motors. --- Experience with balancing and testing --- High School Diploma required --- Successful completion of a hands-on apprenticeship --- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds Key to a successful interview: The company is looking for a military veteran that has transferrable skills for a mechanic/winder. They have had success with Nuclear Machinist Mates. They have the ability to find a lot of military ---maintenance mechanics,--- but if they were on a team where they were heavily specialized, they don---t always work out, unfortunately. These positions require a well-rounded understanding of electro mechanics from start to finish of the repair cycle and while some is on-the-job training, those who are accustomed to only working on one part of the motor or siloed to one stage of the repair process don---t generally stick around.
