Position begins August 16, 2021. Responsibilities include teaching 4-12 units (one to three courses) of first year in-person Italian under the supervision of a program coordinator. This job posting is to update our list of qualified part-time instructors and will be drawn upon for the Fall 2021 semester and beyond, as needed. Qualified candidates will be tasked with teaching courses either during the day or evening on the UNR main campus in Reno. This position is based upon a semester long contract and is not eligible for benefits.Required QualificationsNative or near-native proficiency in English and ItalianM.A. in Italian or equivalent degreeDemonstrated excellence, or clear evidence of potential for excellence, in teaching first-year university Italian.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated excellence, or clear evidence of potential for excellence, in teaching basicItalian;Evidence of, or potential for, effective interaction with a diverse range of students andcolleagues.Compensation GradeAdjunct instructors are paid $1000 per credit with no benefits.Department InformationThe Department of World Languages and Literatures, offers an array of programs in various languages, from Arabic to Paiute.
