DescriptionThe University of Nevada is recruiting for an
Administrative Assistant 3 for the Nevada Center for Excellence in
Disabilities. ***This position does not provide layoff rights and
is contingent upon funding. This is a part-time position (60%) to
start, with the possibility of moving to full-time (100%) within
the first 12 months of employment. This position will provide
administrative support to a variety of programs and grants, manage
scheduling and coordinating special events, providing consultations
regarding the funding balances and spending, manage travel for
project related activities. The Administrative Assistant 3 manage
and reconcile grant accounts, maintain expenses and process
payments, provide recommendations and guidance for spending grant
funds, meet monthly with the grant managers, support the
development of grant budgets for grant proposals. This position
will direct recruitment of personnel, serve as search coordinator
on recruitments, facilitate new hires, process contracts and
payroll and other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsThis
position requires graduation from high school or equivalent
education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant
work experience which included experience in one or more of the
following areas: maintenance of complex records and files;
public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies,
regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of
financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims
and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with
projects and activities; OR one (1) year of experience as an
Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an
equivalent combination of education and experience as described
above.Preferred QualificationsCandidates with experience in
external funding, internal funding, Microsoft Excel and working
with budgets are encouraged to apply.Schedule The typical work
schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is
subject to change based on organizational needs. Schedule can be
flexible during the Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm period during
part-time employment.Compensation GradeGrade 27 (Entry, Step 01
$17.80hr. - Step 03 $19.32/hr.)In classified service, salary is in
Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada
Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial
appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's
qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to
