Percentage: NoneRegular_Shift: N/A Basic Purpose Prepares standard
and specialized financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income
statements) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) standards.
Performs financial analyses for reporting to management and outside
agencies. Reports provide business information in support of
management decision-making or in compliance with regulatory agency
or other reporting requirements. Works under moderate supervision,
with regular review of completed assignments. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities Prepares journal entries accurately within time
constraints. Performs account reconciliations and analyses. Ensures
that internal controls are in compliance with established company
policies, procedures and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley as
relating to accounting and financial systems to produce accurate
financial information. Prepares financial statements, schedules,
and data request responses for internal and external use. Responds
to accounting questions or problems and provides solutions.
Coordinates work with other departments and affiliates to obtain
and provides information on a timely basis. Participates in special
projects within accounting department or other departments. Assists
in developing more efficient / effective accounting process and
procedures. Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known
and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and
regulations applicable to position and company. Performs related
duties as assigned. Requirements Essential Education, Skills, and
Environment Education and Work Experience Bachelor's degree in
Accounting and 2 or more years of experience. Specialized Knowledge
and Skills Demonstrates technical knowledge of accounting theory
and GAAP; Utility and Regulatory accounting as defined by the
Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) and FERC regulations.
Demonstrated attention to detail, problem solving, research,
communications, analytical, decision making, and organizational
skills. Demonstrated skills in developing and maintaining effective
relationships and interacts with others on assigned
responsibilities. Equipment and Applications PCs, financial
spreadsheets, word processing, database and accounting software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands General office environment.
High workload levels may be experienced, especially during closing
periods. No special physical demands required. CompensationAnnual
Salary: $64,700.00 (Min) to $76,100.00 (Mid); Up to 10% Short Term
Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company.
