Director of Financial Planning & Analysis Medical GroupRequisition id: 150917Department: 530804 Other AdministrationFacility: Renown Medical Group (Reno)Schedule: Full TimeShift: DayCategory: ManagementLocation: Reno,NVPosition Purpose Under the general direction of the Divisional CFO and by working with other leaders throughout the assigned Division (s) and Renown Health to optimize the Divisional and Organizational performance and execution of financial and strategic goals.The incumbent establishes an in depth understanding of the divisional operations and its financial information needs thereby having the ability to provide financial guidance, decision making, andaccurate and timely monitoring and reporting of operating results versus established goals, best practices and benchmarks.This position is responsible for independently organizing, analyzing and presenting high value analysis in order to achieve its financial commitments.An advanced professional level position working with the Finance Division team, leadership at all levels throughout the organization. Work situations require complex data analysis, strong computer skills, initiative, and independent judgment in decision-making; ability to routinely identify financial improvement opportunities including enhancing and improving business operations, strategic projects, operational costs and other underlying efficiencies and processes.Nature and Scope Reporting to the Divisional CFO, the incumbent is responsible for the identification, development and enhancement of reports, systems and procedures to allow for the accurate and timely monitoring and reporting of operating results and financial improvement opportunities.In this role, the incumbent will assist in the development of plans that support the Divisionand promote its ability to develop and maintain success as a financially sustainable division of Renown Health in an environment of increased government oversight, increased competition and consistent change in market demands.Incumbent is responsible to assess and communicate financial outcomes for Division monthly financial reporting, operating and capital budget planning, long-range financial planning, productivity and other KPIs. Drive cost structure and margin improvement efforts. Independently perform and oversee complex research and financial analyses. Supports assigned operating Administrators with various initiatives, financial metrics, analyses and strategic projects. Provides support to various initiatives and task forces throughout the organization. Provides input and oversight of Divisional budget development and accountability. Completes and oversees pro formas in partnership with Operational Leaders for new or expanded services in alignment with the standard Renown pro forma process.As necessary, oversee and/or complete annual benchmarking data submittal, oversee provider compensation, interprets reimbursement impact, cost accounting and oversee monthly contractual and bad debt reserves.For projects or tasks, that the financial analyst team members are assigned the incumbent provides direction and oversight to their work and assists the CFO to prioritize and allocate financial analyst resources. In addition, the position ensures that the internal financial staff understands the operational scope of the services provided to each department and the primary business purpose of efforts undertaken by the Team. This position is the key leader in implementing a customer service focused department to ensure that the internal and external customersfinancial needs are met timely.Some of the challenges of this position include leading a finance team that provides timely and accurate information.Meeting the high demands of internal and external customers.The incumbent must be capable of and comfortable with shifting priorities at a moments notice and as information and organizational needs change.The position is challenged with providing continuous communication regarding the status of financial requests.This position has access to proprietary information and has contact with external organizations and customers and will maintain high standards of professionalism, communication, performance and respect for confidentiality.This position does not provide patient care.Disclaimer The foregoing description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job. It is intended to be an accurate reflection of the general nature and level of the job.Minimum Qualifications Requirements Required and/or Preferred Name Description Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.Masters Degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field is required or incumbent must be in the process of completing. Experience: At least three years in a healthcare financial role within an integrated health system or five years non-healthcare finance with three years finance leadership.Experience with financial planning and budgeting, cost management, and business case development.License(s): None Certification(s): CMA Preferred Computer / Typing: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced working knowledge of Outlook,PowerPoint, Excel and Word andhave the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
